Megastar's STALIN: Release Highlights

EDISON, New Jersey - Sept 10th 2006: This is a momentous occasion for Telugu Cinema: This is a testimony of sheer MEGA power. This is a sign of things to come. Telugu cinema’s popularity abroad is growing by the day. Rather, as the rapidly increasing Telugu community takes to its second nature – movies, it is fun time for all concerned. In the past 18 months, Telugu audiences have been patronizing Telugu films with merit like never before, now comes the icing on the cake.

As the countdown begins for the release of Megastar’s STALIN later this month, preparations are in full swing to launch it worldwide in a true blockbuster style. In what is apparently a release of record proportions, STALIN will be released abroad with 29 prints, the highest for any South Indian film till date and a magnitude that only A category Hindi films enjoy.

In USA, STALIN will be releasing with 18 prints in 30 locations in the first week alone. The previous record was 11 prints for Jai Chiranjeeva also distributed by KAD Entertainment. No other Telugu movie was released with more than 8 prints in USA otherwise. In the Gulf region, STALIN will be released with 6 prints while in Asia Pacific and Europe the number of prints will be 3 and 2 respectively.

In the USA, east coast will be blanketed with simultaneous first week screenings in (from north to south): Boston, New Haven - CT, East Windsor – CT, New York, New Jersey (with 2 prints in 4 screens), Delaware, Virginia, Cary - NC, Atlanta. Besides STALIN will premier for the first time in many other centers like Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Memphis, Bloomington, Kansas City, St. Louis and in Toronto-Canada as well, where Telugu movies are usually released 5 to 6 weeks after their first theatrical release.

Screening will be done in such a widespread way that most of the film goers will find a screening of the film within a max distance of 2 hour drive from their location in the first two weeks itself.

Starting from 14th September, KAD entertainment will start advance booking of tickets online through secondshows.com, now with a brand new look.

Since the day shooting began, STALIN has been generating tremendous amount of anticipation everywhere in India and Abroad. After three years, the Megastar returns to a genre that does full justice to his stature and what his millions of fans expect from him.

Heart throb Trisha pairs with the Megastar for the first time while the Directorial whiz kid Murugadoss, fresh from the scintillating success of GHAJINI, directs.

Watch this space for an exciting season ahead.
