EDISON, New
Jersey - May 26th 2006:
One of the famous keertans
written in praise of Lord Rama by Kancharla Gopanna famously known as Sri
Ramadasu goes thus ‘Antha Rama Mayam’ which means Lord Rama is
Omnipresent.
400 years after the song was
first rendered, the Telugu feature film SRI RAMADASU, directed
by the Legendary film maker K. Raghavendra Rao and starring South India's
famous film star Nagarjun in the lead, demonstrates that this couldn’t be more true and with the phenomenal
audience response the movie provides irrefutable evidence to the saint’s claim and
observation.
After casting a musical,
spiritual spell on multitudes of audiences in many countries including the
USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and even the Gulf,
millions in India, Sri Ramadasu
now arrives in South Africa.
To mark the occasion a
special premiere was organized by 21st century innovation and Kad
entertainment on 25th May 2006. Mr. Ajay Swaroop – Indian Consul General to South Africa, Dy.
Mayor of Durban Mr. Logee Naidoo, Prof. Zungu – University of Kwazulu Natal
, several dignitaries, Prominent members of Hindu Mahasabha, Andhra
Mahasabha, Gujrati Mahasabha, Telugu federation attended the premiere
organized today at the Gateway Cinema of Sterkinekor-Durban and were visibly
overwhelmed by the experience. Several Telugus, Indians who have been living
in South Africa for many years and have been longing for rediscovering their
cultural roots and non-Indians too found watching the movie an
unexplainable, indescribable emotional rollercoaster.
The film opens for general
public from 26th May’2006 and is already eliciting tremendous
response.
Yet Another Delectable First
When it arrives next
fortnight, Sri Ramadasu will be the first ever South Indian Film in history
to hit cinemas in Botswana - another country in the African continent.
Representatives of Kad Entertainment the overseas distributors of Sri
Ramadasu said the film is not relevant for just one region, one language or one
community, but it concerns the entire humanity and the fact that the film is
made in Telugu does not restrict its appeal and the effect is felt
alike everywhere, Boston or Botswana , Sydney or San Jose. We take lot of
pride in the fact we are able to transcend one more barrier by taking this
wonderful Telugu Film to Botswana and other parts of the African continent.
