Those who watched
the movie yesterday were awe inspired by the manner in which the legendary
director K. Raghavendra Rao adopted this centuries old devotional saga to
the silver screen. Sri Ramadasu was released with 8 prints in US, the
highest for any Nagarjuna starrer so far.
In Dallas, the
replicas of the idols of Lord Rama, Seeta & Laxmana as they are in
Bhadrachalam were installed on the opening day and the Holy Prasadam
distributed among viewers. After the movie was over, many spectators in all
the centers expressed their joy at watching such beautiful effort.
Mean while, Padma
Bhushan Dr.ANR who played a pivotal role as Kabir Das, in Sri Ramadasu
said in an interview that, besides Nagarjuna who played Sri Ramadasu with
élan , K. Raghavendra Rao, Keeravani, J.K. Bharavi, Konda Krishnam Raju &
others, the biggest Hero of Sri Ram Dasu is Ram Dasu himself. Because this
is no fiction, he said, two of the historic monuments, even today stand as
irrefutable testimonials to his story, The Bhadrachala Rama Temple and the
Prison in Golconda where Ramadasu was incarcerated. The story of Sri
Ramadasu is 376 years old, but is still as relevant to us as when it first
occurred.
The trade reports
back home suggest that Sri Ramadasu is all set to become one of the biggest
hits in Telugu Cinema in many many years.
