EDISON, New
Jersey, Mar 20th 2006: The
music of K. Raghavendra Rao directed Nagarjuna Starrer Sri Ramadasu has
become a rage with the overseas audiences. With the advent of internet and
mp3 downloads music sales have hit an all time low in recent times. But
Sri Ramadasu has surprised many with the CD sales happening in overseas
markets. Industry people attribute this phenomenal response to the fact that
Sri Ramadasu is no ordinary music album. It is a piece of timeless melodies,
whose appeal will not diminish over time and is an inseparable part of the
Telugu Cultural Heritage. Added to this many exhibitors in the US have
circulated Sri Ramadasu CDs as also part of their publicity campaign for the
theatrical release of Sri Ramadasu on the 30th of March –The
Telugu New Year’s day (Ugadi). Many Temples also were sent these music CDs
who have been playing the music of Sri Ramadasu much to the delight of the
visiting devotees.
Producer Konda Krishnam Raju and Director K.
Raghavendra Rao expressed great joy on the popularity of Sri Ramadasu’s
music. It is an overwhelming feeling to be part of this team that is putting
together this project. Said one exhibitor, there could be no better
promotional tool for Sri Ramadasu than emphasizing on the lilting melodies
of the legendary Saint. The music has cut across all age groups alike. We
are confident that the US audiences will be delighted to revisit on
celluloid the heartening spiritual journey of the Saint when Sri Ramadasu
gets released in theatres across the world on 30th March. We are
even making arrangements to provide the patrons at the cinema houses with
the Lord Rama’s holy offering (Prasadam) from Bhadrachalam.
