EDISON, New
Jersey, Feb 22nd 2006:
In October 2004 Megastar’s
Shankardada MBBS was released across the world with huge fan fare
with about 300 prints. On the same day another film with little known names
also was released with just 3 prints across A.P. No body gave much
importance to this till about after a week the film was declared to be a
spectacular, trendsetting hit. The film was ANAND and the Man behind
it was Sekhar Kammula.
After nearly two years Sekhar Kammula
is preparing to release his second film titled GODAVARI. It
has Sumanth and the Anand girl Komalini Mukharjee in the lead.
The anticipation this time around is tremendous for Sekhar Kammula’s film
and going by the reports, GODAVARI promises to be a heart warming
celluloid delight.
Anand
was
distributed across the world territories by KAD Entertainment. In fact Anand
achieved first notable success for a film by new comers, with the overseas
audiences after about 5 years. (The previous occasion being Nuvve
Kavali, but Nuvve kavali had stalwarts like Mr. Ramoji Rao & Mr.
Ravikishore handling the production.) In the DVD version, Anand for
the first time was released as a collector’s edition with a second disc that
included features like Making of the film and Deleted Scenes and was a
raging success with the overseas audiences. Anand won several awards
including prestigious Nandi Awards – Best Director for Sekhar Kammula
and Best Actress for Komalini Mukharjee.
Now GODAVARI too is bagged
by KAD Entertainment for overseas distribution and home video products. It
is a matter of great joy for KAD Entertainment to distribute GODAVARI,
representatives of KAD said and added that we thoroughly enjoyed working
with the team of Anand the last time and we are very glad to be working with
them again. And we are confident that Sekhar‘s film will appeal even more to
all the audiences this time.
KAD entertainment will be distributing
GODAVARI in association with Touring Talkies- USA. Touring
Talkies is promoted by Sekhar Kammula’s friend and long time associate Mr.
Manohar Reddy. He was also the associate producer of “Anand” and executive
producer of Sekhar Kammula’s national award winner “Dollar Dreams”.
Touring Talkies intends to make low budget, independent films in
Telugu and other south Indian languages promoting new talent.
