EDISON, New
Jersey, Jan 29th 2006:
Allu
Arjun(Bunny as he is affectionately known)’s latest romantic comedy HAPPY
finally arrived in America and making audiences just that - Happy.
For
a second time in quick succession, the prints got delayed and shows had to
be cancelled on Friday all across US. Doubts were being raised about whether
there would be any screening even on Saturday. But Happy opened to
spectacular crowds in New Jersey. As many as 745 people watched HAPPY on
Saturday in 4 shows all houseful and overflowing - despite all odds and
uncertainty. The 4th show (11PM show) was announced at 8:30PM and
it was sold out by 9:30PM.
Kad
entertainment’s Vasu ended up in a brawl to get the prints cleared and out
of the airport. Sirish of Geetha films said , we feel rewarded because all
that effort is being paid off with the audiences having a gala time in
HAPPY. It’s a great fun film and the songs are truly spectacular. The
Hyderabadi song is mind blowing.
Prints reached in other major centers just in time to allow the screening of
at least one show. In Detroit the only show possible on Saturday returned
the figures of 350 people with 41 returning without tickets. Though the
exact numbers are awaited from the other three places (Chicago, Dallas and
San Jose), the exhibitors are already HAPPY about the overwhelming response
they could sense.
Sunday looks to be all set for record turnouts in all the centers in US.
