EDISON, New Jersey, Jan 16th 2006: Leading South Indian DVD Company Kad Imagilight Entertainment has acquired iDream DVD known for their single minded focus on producing Telugu DVDs with extraordinary quality. Under the contract, Kad will now have the absolute ownership of iDream catalogue of about 23 films,  of the iDream brand, which has its loyal following and the website www.idreamdvd.com .

About KAD Imagilight: Director of Kad/Imagilight and Head of Overseas operations Vasudeva Reddy elaborated: When we entered this business, the Telugu DVD market was infested with inferior quality, pirated products. The audiences also had resigned to patronizing such stuff because of lack of choice. For any one who hoped to do legitimate business, it was an impossible task as there was no way a company could tackle piracy. Add to the fact that, at that point there was very little support from the film makers to make quality DVDs as the business itself was not remunerative.  It was an uphill task to cope with such issues. But in our capacities, we have initiated several anti-piracy measures, conducted several raids on pirates in India & US and contributed to the reduction in piracy to a considerable level.

We also brought out several DVDs of memorable films with great quality and many add on features like cast & crew interviews, making of the film, multiple sound tracks, multi-language sub-titles and so on. We have always admired iDream, even when it was a competing brand, for their determination to provide quality DVDs against all odds. We are glad to have made iDream part of our repertoire.

We promise that iDream will continue the tradition of the same world class quality as earlier. We would soon be reviving iDream brand with the latest blockbuster in Telugu - Chatrapathi starring Prabhas and Shriya.

About iDream: iDream was started in the year 2003 by a group of DVD enthusiasts lead by Mr. Krishna and Mr. Durga (aka Nani). Krishna (who is an active participant in all of Indian DVD discussion boards, under the userid “Krishna”) has over the years, secured substantial following in the US, for his appreciation of good DVDs and his criticism of those churning out inferior quality DVDs. It was this passion of Krishna and Nani, for treating films with respect and using the DVD technology to best avail that led to start iDream.

In their pursuit to offer best quality DVDs to the audiences, Krishna & Co., have taken great pains to make films like Missamma, Shivamani, Nenunnanu, Yagnam, Sathyam, Sri Anjaneyam, Samba, Ammai Bagundi and many more. Most of these DVDs were mastered in Progressive FPS, Anamorphic wide screen format with Dolby 5.1 surround & DTS sound tracks.

Krishna reasoned: We have realized that it takes more than sheer passion for good DVDs to continue the good job we have initiated. We need to have a strong marketing network, a thorough understanding of the industry, a sound business strategy and a mechanism to combat piracy. Since we found KAD to be having these qualities in good measure, coupled with the fact that they share our vision too of world class DVDs, we were prompted to offer our brand and catalogue to them.
