EDISON, New Jersey, Jan 14th 2006: Sravanthi Ravikishore the veteran film maker of over 24 memorable films, including  Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, Nuvve Nuvve, Nuvve kavali and so on, is well known for his tasteful films.

An  interesting  facet of his penchant for good films came about when, during Pongal of 2005, he was so impressed by another successful producer M. S. Raju’s film Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana, that he immediately grabbed the overseas  distribution rights of the film. He confided that he derived great pleasure taking such a beautiful film to the Telugu audiences across the world.  The stupendous success that Nuvvosthanante achieved all over and especially in USA and  South Africa is still fresh in audience’s memory.

He did an encore this time, by acquiring the overseas distribution rights of Y.V.S. Chowdary’s latest musical, romantic spectacle Devdas. Announcing this, Mr. Ravikishore said it is a coincidence that this Pongal too, he fell in love with a film and the  performances of the cast. But the similarities do not end there.

Interestingly  Nuvvosthanate… deals with a London based youth, Siddharth who comes to India and falls head over heels for the beautiful village belle Trisha. In Devdas, Ileana -US based Indian, Senator Sayaji Shinde’s daughter, lands in India and loses her heart to Ram. In Nuvvosthanante .. Siddarth leaves UK to pursue his love and wins over the challenges, while in Devdas Ram travels to US against all odds to win his ladylove.

While Ileana – the girl in Devdas,  has already become a heartthrob of many and also bagged roles opposite top stars like Mahesh Babu, Ram ‘s energetic portrayal and machismo have made the viewers sit up and take notice of him. Many already are raving about him being a Star material.

Both Nuvvosthanante… and Devdas  are rich in Music and in fact, Devdas has as many as 9 songs shot in the most exotic locales of US.

It is another coincidence that Devdas stars Ravikishore’s nephew Ram in his debut film.
